Abstract

Psychodrama ( 12) as a therapeutic tool in prison was described by Rudolf Lassner in 1950 (11) and Raymond J. Corsini has contributed a number of articles since 1951 (3,4, 5, 6, 7).
The problems of treating criminals by individual or psychoanalytic methods and recommendations for group therapy as a preferred mode has been discussed by many (1, 3, 5, 8, 10). Alexander and Staub (2) said criminals are difficult to treat by psychoanalytic methods because there is a lack of neurotic pain, a need for punishment, plus uncertainty and mistrust of any helping agent.
