.Abstract
In the following, the designation "psychotherapy' covers an elaborate system of psychological treatment, not the mere occasional advice or incidental additions to other treatments as current in general medical practice. It is true that from this point of view psychotherapy has been used since time immemorial, throughout the ages; the conditions and development in Czechoslovakia ate, thus considered, no different from those in any other country.
