THE DRUG ADDICT, ROLE PLAYING AND GROUP PSYCHOTHERAPY, THE NEED FOR A NEW APPROACH

Abstract

In 1956 the author of this article administered a Role Training Program to inmates of the Riker's Island Penitentiary in preparation for their release on parole. The objective was to investigate,the relationship of improvement in role playing ability developed in the course of Role Training to conformity to general social values.
