The purpose of this paper is to describe language and communication with special reference to training groups, and with certain comparisons with therapy groups. The following topics will be considered: (1) some general features of communication, (2) variables in the communication cycle, (3) misconceptions about communication frequently held at the outset of training group experience, and (4) communication phenomena in the training group.
