GROUP PSYCHOTHERAPY IN INDUSTRY: A CASE OF INTRAGROUP CONFLICT
Keywords:
PSYCHOTHERAPYAbstract
Group psychotherapy principles and practice had their genesis over two decades ago, and since that time have proven successful in the attenuation and/or resolution of many personal and interpersonal problems. The chief architect and exponent of the use of group psychotherapy methods is J. L. Moreno, who introduced the term in 1931 (2), together with such other techniques as psychodrama, sociodrama, and role-playing, all of which form an integral part of sociatry-the science of social healing (3). In the main, group psychotherapy methods have been used in the clinics and hospitals as a therapeutic tool, albeit within the past few years some of these methods have been adapted to industrial situations (primarily as problem-employee counseling methodology and conference type human relations training courses).
