Fathers are parents too. This, of course, is no revelation. Yet in the past we have tended to overlook the implications of this obvious fact. Since the mother is more closely and frequently in contact with the child, it has been assumed that on her shoulders rests major blame for any adjustment difficulties he may have, and in recent years there has been a plethora of articles, lectures and books on the evil of that mother-dominated relationship once so aptly termed "momism."
