A SCALE TO MEASURE INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS IN GROUP PSYCHOTHERAPY
Keywords:
PSYCHOTHERAPYAbstract
This paper will describe the construction, validation, and use of a scale designed to measure the adequacy of an individual's interpersonal relationships in a group therapy setting. This scale is made up of 88 brief descriptions of behavior which is likely to occur in a group therapy session; the leader or observer scores each individual by indicating true or false for each of the items. The final score is the percentage of all the items which are marked in a way indicating "good" interpersonal relationships. The scale is designed to be a sensitive, discriminating measure of the changes in interpersonal behavior which group therapy aims to achieve.
