Abstract

It is of considerable importance to be able to evaluate how a person will behave in a specific group situation. In view of the usual time requirement of effective psychotherapy, the number of clinic patients who remain in treatment is staggeringly small. Utilization of group psychotherapy has been an integral feature of the development of the San Francisco Mental Hygiene Clinic. At any given time 507 of all the patients are in group psychotherapy and it constitutes 25% of our total therapy.
