In reviewing this book, I shall try to present its main idea and then to ask questions from three main points of view: (1) that of the practitioner in the mental heatlh field looking for a helpful book, (2) that of the psychologist looking for evidence that an approach is effective, or at least worth further study, and (3) that of a literary critic interested in parallels between psychotherapy and literature.
