Abstract

Role-play techniques have been employed in therapy (Moreno, 1959; Kelly, 1955; Corsini, 1966) and utilized to promote attitude change (Culbertson, 1957; Davis and Jones, 1960; Janis and King, 1954). In addition, role-play has been used for didactic purposes ( osenzweig, 1968; Corsini et al., 1961; Klein, 1965). To our knowledge there has been little or no report of the use of role-play for training beginning psychotherapists. In this paper, we describe the development of such a training technique.
