RELIGIOUS OUTLOOKAbstract
WHY MORENO AND GIBRAN?
While in training to be a psychodramatist, I became aware of Jacob L. Moreno's original concern to bring about a new religious outlook and to search for a new world order. This concern was in many ways a reaction to a world that had just emerged from a world war with all the chaos, confusion and brutalities that come with war and the need for new directions and new goals that can bring back a state of normalcy and hope. Commenting on that period of time, Moreno writes, "Postwar Vienna was seething with revolt. It had no stable government, no emperor, no king, no leader. Like Germany, Russia, the United States, indeed, the entire populated earth, also Austria was restless, in search of a new soul." (Moreno, 1977, p.1)
